One quiet, sleepless night, when the house was cozy but no one could sleep, I told my son about my secret dream to open a bookstore. Every night after that he wanted to hear more, and it became almost like a bedtime story. He began telling everyone he met about our bookstore. Enthusiasm and support poured in and suddenly something that seemed only a dream became a reality.
Alcott's Attic was born.
Alcott's Attic is an independent, pop-up bookstore in Parker, Colorado. We are a small, family-owned company and proud to be your friendly, neighborhood booksellers! Our shop has something for everyone, but our specialty is children's literature.
Our name is inspired by the attic where Jo wrote plays for the March children to perform in Louisa May Alcott's novel, Little Women. Based loosely on Alcott's own childhood at Orchard House, the attic was full of long days of creativity and imagination. Where children were encouraged not to grow up too soon.
