We love bringing readers together! Our store is happy to partner with local venues, authors, and publishers for events in Detroit and the surrounding suburbs. Below is an overview of how we host events
and partner with our community.
Hosted Events
We regularly host events including author talks, readings, and creative activities in our own spaces or in partnership with local venues. Hosted events are typically offered without a fee and are structured around bookselling and community engagement.
Off-Site Events
We also participate in off-site events including schools, cultural institutions, and partner venues. Off-site events require additional preparation and staffing beyond hosted programming. A fee structure applies that allows us to offer these events in a sustainable and professional way!
Base Author/ Event Fee
Event Coordination, one bookseller on site, standard setup, and point-of-sale support.

Weddings & Baby Showers
Add a storybook element to your happily ever after. Wedding book bars include a book for each guest, chocolate, and bookmark! We also offer literature-themed favours for both weddings and baby showers.
Workshops
Workshops for schools and libraries! Subjects include banned books, blackout poetry, and zine making. We provide an interactive and fun learning experience for all ages.
Consulting Services
We offer private collection curation,
in-store merchandising for businesses, and project consultation for community-based reading spaces & small businesses in the city of Detroit.
RECENT EVENTS
We have partnered with local small businesses, publishers, and fellow independent bookstores to provide both in-person and virtual events.
This annual event celebrates International Women's Day and raises funds for early childhood education. Our store was a featured women-owned businesses in 2025.
Silent Book Club is a global community of readers with 500 chapters around the world! Our chapter meets in the Ambassador Lounge of the Fisher Theatre.
Winter wonderland in Cadillac Square! Selected as one of 18 small businesses highlighted for the holidays. Sponsored by Bedrock & The Gilbert Family Foundation.
TEDx is an annual event featuring some of the best and brightest ideas worth sharing in Detroit. Our interactive exhibits have focused on banned books and blackout poetry.
Provided a home library
experience including in-store merchandising for the grand opening of Ashley
Furniture in Dearborn.
Book signing done in partnership with Broadway in Detroit. An unforgettable night with the iconic Fran Lebowitz live & unscripted at Detroit's Fisher Theatre.
